İmanım Quran & Prayer Times

İmanım — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

App: İmanım (com.imanim.app)

In short

İmanım collects no data about you. There is no server of ours, no account and no identifier that recognises you. Everything the app keeps stays inside your phone.

No account

You do not register and you do not sign in. We do not ask for your name, your email address or your phone number. Nothing in the app is locked, there is no paid tier and there is nothing to buy.

The welcome screen may ask what to call you. That is only so the home screen can greet you by name, and the name never leaves your phone. You can leave it blank.

Your location

Prayer times and the qibla bearing are computed from your latitude and longitude. The computation happens on the device and the result is sent nowhere.

To turn your coordinates into a city name — so the screen can say "İstanbul" — the app asks your operating system. That request goes to Apple on iOS or to Google on Android, because the service resolving it is theirs. At that point your coordinates are handled by the operating system; they do not come to us. How Apple and Google handle it is governed by their own privacy policies.

If you decline the location permission the app keeps working: it computes times for İstanbul and lets you pick your own city in settings. No feature is locked behind the permission.

No location history is kept. Only the last known position is stored on the device, so the times can be recomputed.

What is stored on your phone

These live in your device's own storage, and we cannot reach any of them:

Deleting the app deletes all of it. We hold no copy, because none of it ever reached us.

Notifications

Prayer reminders are scheduled on the device through the phone's own notification system. The app requests no push token and connects to no push service. We cannot send you a notification.

Requests that leave the device

The app has no backend of its own. The requests below are made only when you use that feature, and they go directly to the organisation concerned:

WhereWhenWhat is sent
cdn.islamic.networkWhen you play a verseWhich surah and verse was asked for
api.qurancdn.comTo follow verses in Yasser Ad-Dussary's recitationWhich surah's timings were asked for
download.quranicaudio.comWhen you download a surahWhich surah was asked for
backup.qurango.netWhen you open the Qur'an radioWhich station was opened
nominatim.openstreetmap.orgWhen you search for a cityThe text you typed

Like any request made over the internet, these also show the other side your IP address. How those organisations handle that is governed by their own privacy policies. We put nothing identifying into the requests: no identity, no device number, no tracking token.

Prayer times, the qibla direction, the Hijri calendar, the text of the Qur'an, the translations, the supplications, the 99 Names and the Sira are entirely on the device. They generate no requests at all and work in airplane mode.

What we do not collect

The app contains no analytics tool, usage measurement, crash reporter, ad network, advertising identifier, fingerprinting or third-party tracking code.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data — because we do not have it.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages (4+) and collects no data from anyone, and so none from children either.

Permissions

PermissionWhat for
LocationPrayer times and the qibla bearing
NotificationsPrayer reminders
Exact alarms (Android)So a reminder fires at the stated minute
Motion sensorThe qibla compass
VibrationThe tasbih counter
Background audioQur'an radio and recitation, with the screen off

All of them are optional. A declined permission affects only its own feature and does not stop the app.

Deleting your data

There is no server record to delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept. You can also delete downloaded surahs, one at a time or all at once, from the "Downloaded Recitations" screen inside the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date above changes with it. If a change ever widened what is collected, we would also say so in the release notes.
